Who says you can’t grow things in winter time?

December 28th, 2007 09:54 am by Carol

Happy Friday! Can you believe that 2007 is nearing an end? It’s that time of year that we reflect on the past and look forward to the future. Many of us have New Year resolutions and as soon as we think them, we wonder what day, week, or month we’ll break them. Perhaps we put to much pressure on ourselves by saying this year we won’t do x, y, z. Rather than resolving yourself to do, to be, to earn, to lose, to…to…to, how about stepping back and just allow yourself to be in the moment. I don’t think I’ve ever kept a resolution that had a year-long plan attached to it. But a one-month resolution of not eating McDonalds french fries went to two months, three months, and eventually lasted eight years and I still rarely eat them.

So as you enjoy the remainder of 2007, start planting ideas of love, happiness, peace, growth, abundance, enlightenment, and absolute joy into your consciousness for the next month, next week, or frankly just the next couple days if you are in a challenging place right now. As you plant your seeds, nurture them with happiness and positive focus, watch them grow, and keep in mind that you are a part of a magnificent garden called the universe. Perhaps you are a flower in a beautifully manicured urban garden, or you are a wild flower alongside the vast highways, maybe a single stem sitting along a creek. Wherever your roots are planted, you are part of that particular scenic environment. The other flowers are more radiant as they bask in your energy. The other plants, animals, (humans) exist along side of us as we share this time in space. We each have the ability to nurture those around us – often without even knowing we are doing so simply by our fragrant scent of happiness. So as you plant your personal seeds and enjoy watching them grow, open your eyes to the grandness around you. Love and appreciate the whole. Share your sunshine and water when others are in need and I guarantee it will be shared with you on a gloomy dry day.

 Quotes of the day:

”The first principle of success is desire – knowing what you want. Desire is the planting of your seed.” ~ Robert Collier

”The strongest principle of growth lies in the human choice.” ~ George Elliot

For the next week I invite you to:

Plant seeds of your dreams and desires and allow them to grow.See your life as a garden by nurtuing what is important to you and removing the prickly weeds; but make sure they are prickly as although dandelions are called weeds, they sure are pretty in a field of dandelions.

As you nurture what is important, truly get into the feeling of what makes it important to you.

As you remove the prickly weeds, understand why they no longer suit your new garden, yet appreciate them for showing you contrast so you can better cultivate your personal garden.

EnJOY your garden and see all the beautiful gardens around you. Perhaps add a flower or two from another’s garden to yours. And if you see prickly weeds in someone else’s’ garden, realize it is for them to pick out if they want. For you, it’s just a reminder of what doesn’t work in your garden, but maybe it’s their dandelion.

Mostly, I invite you to enjoy today as today is the seeds you planted of yesterdays gone by. Nurture and believe in your garden and all of your tomorrows will be as beautiful as today.

So throw caution to the wind (which will carry your seeds further anyway) and go right ahead – START PLANTING YOUR PERFECT GARDEN IN WINTER.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

December 21st, 2007 09:55 am by Carol

Happy Friday! As you have figured out by now, I’m a fan of e-mail. My job has me at the computer much of the day and I’m very grateful that I enjoy having that connection with people via email. I use instant messenger as well for work and put a different message up each day such as: Today – choose love; Today – choose peace; Today – choose inspiration. A few weeks ago I created one that I’m using today as it has inspired this message: Be a snowflake – by being yourself.

It is said that no two snowflakes are exactly alike. That simple statement just amazes me as I can get caught up in that understanding when it’s snowing. I look out the window and wish I could take a look at each one and truly see their difference. They are magnificent examples of how nature works in collaboration and right timing. Nature provides the perfect elements for them to thrive on – the right temperature, the right moisture, etc. They are all beautiful in their own unique way. Some are small, some are big and fluffy, some are wet, some are powdery, and some appear to be falling from the sky as if they were shot from a cannon, while others take their time and wistfully fall to the ground.

They are all different. Yet, even with their differences, they come to the earth’s surface in collaboration with all the other snowflakes as if they’ve made an agreement of ‘yes we’re different, but as a team, we are more powerful, more beautiful, and more creative’. They create a blanket together to cover the earth as she rests until the next season. They live side by side in harmony not fearing the differences of the flake next to them, but seeming to understand that while enjoying their own uniqueness, they know of the overall connection of snow. We too have a connection in humanity yet each of us have own our uniqueness as individuals. How inspiring would it be if we could all just flake out a bit more like snow and simply allow each other the grace and space to just be. Love each other for their unique gift they provide the earth and love ourselves for our unique gift as well? So I invite you to be a bit flaky and act like snow.

Quotes of the day:

“Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.” ~ Judy Garland

“Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind”. ~Dr. Seuss

“You want to be ALLOWERS. And you will know you have achieved that when you are willing to allow another, even when the other does not allow you. When you are able to allow, even when the other is not allowing you – you will have absolute freedom.” ~ Abraham Hicks

For the next week I invite you to:

Allow yourself to celebrate your unique gift you share with the world. When you catch yourself seeing someone else of having more or better than you, step back, breathe, and celebrate YOU and know you can shift your consciousness at any moment you choose to shift.

Allow others to be their unique gift. It certainly doesn’t mean you have to spend time with all of humanity, but allow them to live their truth as you live yours.

Dream of huge, beautiful, fluffy snowflakes and realize that same brilliance exists in you.

Mostly, I invite you to be that snowflake that is gorgeous, brilliant, graceful and absolutely 100% authentic and unique to itself – yet has a wonderful time falling from the sky with millions of other snowflakes and lying together in a beautiful blissful blanket.

Time

December 17th, 2007 10:54 am by Carol

I am so grateful for the infinite power of Source. And simply by knowing that Source is love, peace, joy, and allowing, I know all is well.

I love knowing that I am one with Source as:

Source is ME,

Around ME,

And through ME.

I claim within the power of knowing of these truths that my life is filled with everything I need and that includes time. I have more than enough time as all of my dreams and desires manifest effortlessly and in perfect timing. Time is relative and whatever time I need to accomplish an inspired action opens itself to me in a peaceful and graceful manner. There is no need to feel rushed as Source provides me with all the time I need. Everyday I wake up inspired, calm, and ready to embrace a wonderful day filled with miracles and magic. Through Source, my mind and body know when to take action and when to rest and be still.

I am grateful in knowing this truth and living in the flow of an amazing life. I know it’s already done by Universal Law and I release this truth of always enough time and let Source take care of the details to provide me with this amazingly Loving, Whole, Allowing, Joyful, Peaceful, and Timeless existence I walk in this lifetime.

And So It Is!
