Will You Tell Me A Bedtime Story?

January 23rd, 2008 11:26 am by Carol

Happy Wednesday!

Do you remember as a kid when you loved your mom or dad to tell you a bedtime story? I sure do and I was actually recently talking to a friend of some of my favorite childhood books and hers. Do you have favorite childhood stories? How about current stories you are reading? What about the current stories you are telling yourself? Each of us has our own personal story we tell ourselves and the universe. What kind of story are you telling yourself? Is it a romance novel of being in love with the perfect person for you? Is it an instruction manual on how to live your best life? Is it a fantasy about how amazing your life is? Is it a story of hardship regarding broken homes, debt, and feeling isolated? Whatever the story is you are telling, just remember, you are the author of your life and can spice it up at any time. You have the power to turn the page, and move on to a new chapter when your current story no longer serves you.

Quotes of the day:

“If you don’t have a story that will hold the audience, you won’t have a successful show,’ ~Dorothy Fields

“We all live in suspense from day to day; in other words, you are the hero of your own story.” ~ Mary McCarthy

I invite you for the next week to write your bedtime story:

Write a story of your wildest dreams.

See yourself in the starring role of those wildest dreams and winning awards for your amazing self.

Allow yourself the ability to re-write your story when that plot no longer works for you.

Mostly, I invite you for the next week is to tell yourself the greatest bedtime story of your life. Read from the new script you carry in your mind of your grandest life wishes and feel they become real. Smell the scents of the beauty of your life. Taste the deliciousness of your story. And before you close your eyes to carry this story into your dreams - end your story with and I lived happily ever after.

Sweet dreams!

Zoom In And Focus

January 17th, 2008 08:16 am by Carol

   Happy Wednesday!

Recently I had a household of family over on a Sunday afternoon and we had a fabulous time. Cameras were flashing as the two youngest additions to the family are 20 months and one month old, so who can resist baby pictures? Cameras keep getting easier to use and clearer and more vibrant images all the time. Wouldn’t it be nice if our lives were like a camera — Easier to live and clearer and more vibrant every day? Now I am not a photographer, but it seems to me that the importance of an amazing picture over an average one is focus? Well, I believe this holds true in our lives as well.

When you want a picture of a beautiful smiling baby, you don’t focus in and take a picture of a crying baby. When you want a picture of a beautiful sunrise, you don’t focus in and take a picture on a foggy morning where the sun doesn’t appear until 10 am. When you want a picture of a happy couple, you don’t focus in and take a picture when they are having a disagreement. So zoom in and focus on your dreams and desires rather than what you don’t want in your life and your life will be filled with pictures of your wildest dreams.

Quotes of the day:

“You can’t depend on your judgment when your imagination is out of focus.” ~ Mark Twain

“The key to success is to focus our conscious mind on things we desire not things we fear.” ~ Brian Tracy

For the next week I invite you to zoom in and focus on:

Loving your life over fearing the unknown

Enjoying unlimited possibilities over worrying about what is going to happen

Expecting financial freedom over your fears of not having enough or debt

Absolute health over prognosis of illness

Your perfect body size over stressing about needing to lose weight

Your perfect romantic relationship over the fear of being alone

Your perfect career over the fear of just getting by

Mostly, I invite you to truly focus on your dreams and desires and get crystal clear on them. Sit with them each day for at least five minutes and relish how great they make you feel. Focus on that feeling place while allowing those images to soak into your pores. See each moment of your life as if a photographer was clicking away to capture your essence, so focus on the images you want placed in your memory book (your mind). Focus on love, laughter, silliness, peace, joy, and being connected to the Universe.

So go capture your life in small and amazing snapshots, just remember to delete the ones that are out of focus!

Hug It Out

January 9th, 2008 10:45 am by Carol

Happy Wednesday!

I’ve decided to move the weekly message to a mid-week boost. Happy reading!

Did the saying ‘Hug it out’ come from the TV show ‘Friends’? That is where I remember it from, when there was a conflict, it was hug it out. Recently I heard that the daily hug requirements are: four per day for survival, eight per day for maintenance, and twelve per day for growth.

Do you get 12 hugs a day? How amazing would it be to feel a great big bear hug at least 12 times a day? Just sit with that thought for a moment on getting those hugs. Are they hugs of comfort? Are they hugs of joy? Are they hugs of peace? Are they hugs of forgiveness? Or are they simply a hug recognizing another person exists and matters to you and the world?

Do you embrace life? Do you soak up the love around you and in you? Do you see possibilities in your contrasting experiences? Do you feel loved, whole, and complete?

If you were getting your 12 hugs in daily, I guarantee you will feel more joy, peace, love, and overall abundance and you will certainly feel connected.

Need a hug?
Check out some amazing videos from around the world on YouTube. It started from one man in Sydney Australia who was having a bad day. And from that bad day of disconnect, look what he has created? One person is important. One person does make a difference!

Quotes of the day:

“A hug is like a boomerang - you get it back right away.” ~ Bil Keane

“A hug is a smile with arms, a laugh with a stronger grip.” ~ Terri Guillemets

For the next week I invite you to:

Embrace life fully. See each day as an amazing adventure that you get to orchestrate to your liking.

Embrace those you love. Hug your significant other, your kids, your parents, your siblings, your friends, your family pet.

Embrace a stranger. Ask someone as you go through the day if you can offer them a hug. If hugging a stranger is uncomfortable to you, I invite you to mentally give them a hug as you walk by and perhaps check in with yourself on where that discomfort is stemming from.

Mostly, I invite you to embrace yourself! Look in that mirror each day and see your inner truth of absolute freedom to love and live abundantly. Wrap your arms around you each morning and give yourself a HUGE BEAR HUG.

So regardless if it’s out of love, resolving a conflict, or just saying hello and wishing another person well, make sure to hug it out at least 12 times a day. So stop reading and go HUG IT OUT!

It Is Just Your Imagination

January 4th, 2008 12:19 pm by Carol

Happy Friday!

Have you ever been told you are imagining things? Or it’s just your imagination? What a wild imagination you have? If so - HOT DOGOLICIOUS!! As your imagination is the ability to rid yourself of doubt and fears and simply imagine the best life possible. Spend some time with your imagination and really let it take you to new heights. Imagine your life as you desire it to be. Imagine it as if you were living your dreams RIGHT NOW. Just play and be free to imagine today, tomorrow, next week, next month, all the way through 2008. Don’t worry about the where, why, and how it’s going to happen, simply IMAGINE IT. As you allow yourself to imagine endless possibilities, you will get clearer and see the synchronicities that will take place leading you to your dreams - imagine that!

Quotes of the day:
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~ Howard Thurman

“Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” ~ Albert Einstein

For the next week I invite you to:
Imagine your dream home and feel yourself walking in the front door. Is it a penthouse in downtown Chicago? Is it a cabin in the woods? Is it on a nice tree lined street in the suburbs? Or is it a houseboat?

Imagine perfect connections knowing that all you meet are in your life for a purpose? So imagine them as smooth, fun, enlightening, and beautiful connections.

Imagine peace. What does peace look like to you? How does it sound? How does it feel?

Imagine confidence in yourself? What does that look like to you? How does it feel to be confident? Imagine your dream job and how you feel in it. Are you the boss? Do you work alone? Do you work in a suit? Or do you work in jeans?

Imagine your dream relationship and truly feel how good that welcome home honey hug feels. How does that special person make you feel?

I mostly wish for you to imagine yourself as the person I know you to be. And that an individualistic imprint placed on earth at this time in creation - how cool is that? Just imagine!
