The fun of Halloween - costumes, and trick or treating!

October 30th, 2008 06:39 am by Carol

So it’s the time of year for costumes, candy, and trick or treating. We put on costumes to become a different character for fun. Kids are out knocking on doors to get treats and if they don’t get them, then come the tricking part. I invite you to look at these Halloween traditions in a new light and continue having fun with them, just in a different manner.

Each day as you dress, costume yourself in truth as the successful, intelligent, kind, loving, giving person that you are and be the character of your highest good.

Trick yourself out of any false beliefs you might be carrying around on fear, lack, and judgment.

Treat yourself gently and lovingly in mind, body, and spirit.

Quotes of the Day
Costume Quote

“I liked seeing myself in different costumes and doing different actions. It’s a chance to be something you’re not.”

~ Bill Paxton

  Trick Quote

“The fox has many tricks. The hedgehog has but one. But that is the best of all.”

 ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

  Treat Quote

“An inventor fails 999 times, and if he succeeds once, he’s in. He treats his failures simply as practice shots.”
 ~ Charles Kettering

For the next week, I invite you to costume yourself:
In a big smile that tells everyone just the amazing person you are.
In an outfit of confidence and stay in awareness that you are the confidence you dressed in today.

For the next week, I invite you to trick yourself:
That worry is an old pattern of thought until it no longer has a hold on you as you truly feel all is well.
That you are worthy of greatness until it becomes your new belief that you are great.
That today is where you start living your life fulfilled until it becomes a new pattern that each day is a day of fulfillment.

For the next week, I invite you to treat yourself:
To a nice hot bubble bath
On a long walk admiring the fall changes in nature
To inspirational reading material, a funny story, or something that expands your mind
To the idea that a ‘perceived’ failure is simply a practice shot.
To some quality time for just you to sit with you and enjoy it – not thinking about what is next in the day, but rather what is right here now – your SELF.

Mostly, I invite you to live your highest self of peace, happiness, abundance, and love. Forgive yourself for past costumes you wore on fear, lack, and distrust. Appreciate your experiences and celebrate each choice, even the very small ones that you make on stepping into your truth of goodness, kindness, and love.

Until next week, enjoy the treats of being you.

Hugs,
~Carol

Someday

October 23rd, 2008 04:52 pm by Carol

NEWS FLASH: Someday I will be happy. Someday I will be physically fit. Someday I will have my dream job. Someday my prince will come. Some day my princess will come. Someday I will (fill in the blank with your someday wishes).

I’m sure each of you have felt the someday wishes at some point in your life, and most likely hold onto them today. I’ve sure played the someday game myself. Today just isn’t that day to start on happiness, health, abundance, as I’m just to busy. Or I’ve already messed up today, so I’ll start tomorrow.

NEWS FLASH: Today IS someday. Today IS the moment to begin your someday wishes. Today IS the day that if your someday wishes falter a bit, that you move through it and continue on your path of living life fulfilled. Today IS that day, so make it your best ever.

Quotes of the day:

“Someday perhaps the inner light will shine forth from us, and then we’ll need no other light.” ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.” ~ George Washington Carver

“Procrastination is the fear of success. People procrastinate because they are afraid of the success that they know will result if they move ahead now. Because success is heavy, carries a responsibility with it, it is much easier to procrastinate and live on the ’someday I’ll’ philosophy.” ~ Dennis Waitley

“Winning is great, sure, but if you are really going to do something in life, the secret is learning how to lose. Nobody goes undefeated all the time. If you can pick up after a crushing defeat, and go on to win again, you are going to be a champion someday.” ~ Wilma Rudolph

For the next week, I invite you to make everyday your someday by:

Forgiving yourself for delaying your dreams because you are to busy to start, you’ll start tomorrow, next week, next month.

Appreciating your current situation and seeing the beauty in it. Appreciation and gratitude builds on more appreciation and gratitude which makes each day better.

Starting right now; at this very moment you can start creating your dreams. Even if your morning wasn’t a great start to creating your dreams, let that go and start fresh now. Why wait until another day, start now.

Being gentle with yourself as we all have moments of doubt and fall back to our prior beliefs that we aren’t good enough for our dreams and delay creating them so we don’t fail. Simply know each step forward is a step towards living that dream.

Mostly, my wish for you is to realize you can start living life fulfilled at this very second. You don’t need to wait for a new day, a new month, and a new season. This very moment is your someday, so dream big, love big, and live big.

Until next time, I see all of your days being bright, happy, and filled with love and I invite you to see that too.

Hugs,
~Carol

Loving You

October 15th, 2008 09:34 am by Carol
Did you know it’s easy to love you? Let me tell you how. I love the fact that you give each day your very best. I love that if you seemingly falter, that you continue to forge ahead and not let it get the best of you. I love that you take risks and step outside the box. I love your smile. I love your laugh. I love that you care for others. I love that you see life filled with opportunities. I love that you give yourself a break when you are having a challenging day as you know it’s just a moment of time.

Your family and friends can find many reasons to love you. My question is, do you love yourself? We’ve all felt unworthy or not good enough at some point in our lives, so when you feel that way, do you realize it’s simply normal? No reason to not like yourself for that. We’ve all had moments we could have done or chosen differently, so when you feel that way, do you realize that is simply normal? No reason to not like yourself for that. We’ve all had moments of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, so when you feel that way, do you realize that is simply normal? No reason to not like yourself for that. I say it’s normal to love yourself. Try it, you might actually like it.

Quotes of the day:

“The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.”
 ~ Carl Gustav Jung

“To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance.”
 ~ Oscar Wilde

“The greatest magnifying glasses in the world are a man’s own eyes when they look up his own person.”

 ~ Alexander Pope

“Self-love is not opposed to the love of other people. You cannot really love yourself and do yourself a favor without doing people a favor, or visa versa.”
 ~ Dr. Karl Menninger

For the next week, I invite you to love yourself by:

Forgiving yourself for the not good enough, smart enough, pretty enough, old/young enough, thin enough, strong enough feelings you’ve held about yourself. There is no other one like you, so recognize your uniqueness.

Saying YAY ME for everything you feel you are good at no matter how small it might seem to be. What you find easy to do is another person’s challenge, so recognize what you are good at.

Being proud of your accomplishments as being proud of yourself is not diminishing another’s talents. It is you and I, not you or I.  Recognize your accomplishments.

Being gentle with yourself when you have setback by simply knowing the amazing person you are and that you always thrive.

Mostly, my wish for you is to love yourself so you can recognize the special gifts you are here to share. Fill yourself up with respect, integrity, compassion, humor, kindness, and love. When you are filled to the rim, is when you can overflow all of those qualities to those you love and share your talents with the world.

Until next week, loving you is easy, I hope you see that.

Hugs,
~Carol

Stand Up!

October 8th, 2008 12:25 pm by Carol

Happy Wednesday!

Today, I stand for all the peace in the world. Today, I stand for all the abundance in the world. Today, I stand for all the love in the world. Today, I stand for all the goodness in the world. Today, I simply stand.

Today, I ask you to look in the mirror. To truly look in the mirror and ask yourself, what do I stand for? You and I aren’t that different. I am sure we both stand for peace, prosperity, love and goodness. Perhaps we discuss these stances differently. You can choose to be anti what you don’t want in your life: fighting war, fighting poverty, fighting hunger. Or you can choose to be pro what you do want in your life: pro peace, pro abundance, and pro plenty of food for everyone.

Today I ask you to stand up, look in the mirror, and declare what you DO want in your life. Choose from this day forward to stand up to what you do want. Stand up and recognize your contrasting experiences (what you don’t want) simply as guidelines to put you back on track of living your highest self. Stand up and create the life of your dreams.

Quotes of the Day:

“Give me a place to stand and I shall move the world.”

~ Archimedes

“I have found that the greatest help in meeting any problem with decency and self-respect and whatever courage is demanded, is to know where you yourself stand. That is, to have in words what you believe and are acting from.”

~ William Faulkner

“Here I stand; I can do no other.”

~ Martin Luther

“When you get to the end of all the light you know and it’s time to step into the darkness of the unknown, faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen: either you will be given something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.”

~ Edward Teller

“If we don’t stand for something, we may fall for anything.”

~Malcolm X

For the next week, I invite you to stand up for:

Peace: Give your attention to each peaceful moment you experience and those peaceful experiences will grow.

Love: Give your attention to each loving moment you experience and those loving experiences will expand.

Hope: Give your attention to each hopeful moment you experience and those hopeful experiences will thrive.

Abundance: Give you attention to each abundant moment you experience and those abundant experiences will flourish.

Mostly, I invite you to stand up for you. Stand up and be proud of yourself for choosing to live the life of your dreams. Stand up and be proud for the person you are today and the person you are becoming as each time you choose better thoughts, you are standing up to your highest vision of yourself.

Until next week, simply stand up.

Hugs,
~Carol

RSVP to Life

October 1st, 2008 04:36 pm by Carol

Have you RSVP’d to life recently? Are you focusing your attention to a life of joy, peace, freedom, and abundance? Are you RSVPing yes to the choices that allow you to live that lifestyle? Are you saying no to choices that offer you resistance, fear, and unsettlement?

Today, more than ever before, I ask you to RSVP to what you deserve in life. RSVP yes to those ideas, beliefs, choices, and events that bring you happiness. RSVP no to ideas and beliefs that separate you from your truth of being loved and loving. I am not asking you to turn your back on hurdles, contrasts, and challenges in your life. I am inviting you to view them as movements towards YES I deserve a loving lifestyle as I am a loving person.

Quotes of the day

“A ‘No’ uttered from the deepest conviction is better than a ‘Yes’ merely uttered to please, or worse, to avoid trouble.” ~Gandhi

“Every choice moves us closer to or farther away from something. Where are your choices taking your life? What do your behaviors demonstrate that you are saying yes or not to in life?” ~ Eric Allenbaugh

“The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure.” ~ Joseph Campbell

For the next week, I invite you to RSVP:

YES as I choose to see goodness, love, and abundance in the world.

YES as I choose my own thoughts, feelings, and perceptions on how my world looks today.

YES as I choose to stand with millions of others who are living their highest selves with respect, love, compassion, forgiveness, appreciation, and abundance.

YES as I choose to put my best foot forward in any given moment as I move through the day from a space of love.

Mostly, I invite you to focus on all that is good in your life and allow that goodness to filter into deeper and broader places in your life, your family, your friends, your workplace, your neighborhood, your city, your state, your country, and your world.

Until next week, RSVP yes to your best self.

Hugs,
~Carol
