Season Greetings!
As I sit writing the weekly message with the cold and snow just outside a thick pane of glass, I thought about how much I love Nature. Nature has a natural order and doesn’t let mind get in the way. There is a time for growth (spring), a time to thrive (summer), a time to slow down (fall), and a time to rest (winter). Without each season, the rest wouldn’t be so rich and wonderful. Nature doesn’t worry about what is going to happen next week, next month, next year – it thrives in the season it’s in. Without human involvement, nature is balanced and whole. Nature feels and doesn’t think. Nature simply is.
My favorite season is summer as I love sun, I love being on the water, and I love the vibe of summer. My old self used to dread winter coming – bulky coats, cold weather, slippery roads and sidewalks. Now I enjoy what each day brings. So I have to put on heavier clothing and perhaps walk a little more carefully or drive slower, or even stay in when the weather tells me it’s better to relax at home rather than face the elements, but that too is just fine. I remind myself to live in today rather than what my life will be in six months when the sun is shining and I’m on the water.
Quotes of the day:
“To be interested in the changing seasons is a happier state of mind than to be hopelessly in love with spring.”
~ George Santayaana
“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant. If we did not sometimes taste adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.”
~ Anne Bradstreet
“One kind word can warm three winter months.”
~ Japanese Proverb
“People don’t notice whether it’s winter or summer when they are happy.”
~ Anton Chekhov

For the next week I invite you to live in the moment by:
Looking up towards the sky when we do have the sunny days and just smile and be thankful
Sticking your tongue out and catching a snowflake remembering how much you loved snow as a child and just laughing.
Bundling up to make a snowman or a snow angel
Warming your body with a hot chocolate.
Mostly, I invite you to live in the moment and truly enJOY what today brings. If today is bringing you a contrasting experience to what you want in your life, just smile to yourself knowing that it too is just a moment in time and all is well.
Until next week, enjoy each day’s season.
Hugs,
~Carol
