Baby Steps

January 28th, 2009 09:35 am by Carol

Have you ever watched a baby learning to walk? He starts off by scooting on the floor with his arms pulling him towards his goal. The next thing you know, he is on all fours rocking back and forth. Now that he is rocking and rolling, before your very eyes, he takes off crawling! The world is a different place for him as he is mobile. He can now start reaching his dreams on his own. Mommy and daddy don’t have to give him the toy anymore, he can go get it! It’s time for more adventures, and his next step is pulling himself up and standing as he holds on to furniture. He is wobbly and falls easily, but he is determined to see the world from a new vantage point. Finally, just out of his reach, he sees something so enticing that he must have it. It could be a toy, the family pet, or the outreached arms of mommy or daddy, but he must get there. The desire to reach that dream far outweighs the fear of falling. He lets go of the security of holding on and steps towards his dreams. He is walking! Sure there are some slips and falls along the way, but he is walking, and before you know it, he is running toward his dreams full of confidence and ready to grow and explore.

Just like a baby, you too can move towards your dreams with baby steps.

Today’s Affirmation: I am creating my dreams one step at a time.

Quotes of the day

~Confucius

“Throughout the centuries there were men who took first steps, down new roads, armed with nothing but their own vision.”
~Ayn Rand

“When we take one step toward to God, he takes seven steps toward us.”

For the next week I invite you to move towards your dreams by:

Being at peace at where you are now, where you’ve been, and where you are going

Releasing any fear and doubt however it shows up – not being good enough, not having the right resources, or not knowing where and how to start.

Visualize your dreams by seeing them as a movie. Write your own script, become the star, and simply know that as your movie plays, you can always make edits and rewrite the ending to meet your new dreams and desires.

Be grateful for all the little dreams that are coming true in your life. Say thank you to the little miracles that show up as you are building your dream muscles each time you recognize your successes regardless of the size.

Mostly, whether you sit, crawl, walk, or run, I encourage you to keep moving towards your dreams. Live your highest life of peace, happiness, compassion, service, and love for yourself, for others, and for life.

Until next time, keep on keeping on.

Hugs,
~Carol

Have you ever felt you have great ideas but don’t know where to begin? Have you ever felt you want to make that leap, but are unsure if you are truly ready? Have you wanted to change careers but don’t feel you have what it takes?

If your dreams and desires seem to daunting for you to reach, I invite you to stretch into them rather than leap.

Elite professional athletes don’t hit the winning home run, score the winning touch down, or sink the winning basket without preparation. They have a game plan built on believing in themselves, visualizing the end result, and stretching to loosen up to allow their brilliance to shine. They are continually stretching both figuratively (mind) and literally (body) to live their highest dreams. They develop core muscles of confidence and determination. They visualize where they are going from putting on the uniform to winning the game. They stretch before each game to loosen up and allow their greatness to show up in its highest form.

Quotes of the Day:

“When you engage in systematic, purposeful action, using and stretching your abilities to the maximum, you cannot help but feel positive and confident about yourself.”

~Brian Tracy

“By stretching yourself beyond your perceived level of confidence you accelerate your development of competence.”

~Michael J. Gelb

“Stretching his hand up to reach the stars, too often man forgets the flowers at his feet.”

~Jeremy Bentham

“Ambition has one heel nailed in well, though she stretch her fingers to touch the heavens.”

~ Lao Tzu

Affirmation: I am always stretching toward my dreams.

For the next week I invite you to stretch by opening your:

Arms wide and embracing the amazing possibilities you get to choose from.

Heart and living each day from a space of love and appreciating where you’ve been, where you are now, and looking forward to where you are going.

Mind by affirming that not only do you deserve to be the best YOU, but that you owe it to yourself to live your grandest vision

Creativity and truly seeing you living the life of your dreams and knowing you deserve it!

Mostly, I invite you to loosen up and see the good in you, see the love in you, see the gentleness in you, see the greatness in you and stretch from fear based feelings and reactions. I promise you, the more you stretch, the better you’ll feel.

Until next time, simply loosen up and become a winner in your game of life.Hugs,
~Carol

Sweet Dreams

January 14th, 2009 07:19 pm by Carol

When you climb into bed at night, what do you take with you? Do you take love or fear to bed with you? Do you take your dreams and desires to bed with you? Or do you take limiting beliefs to bed with you?

Set the stage for amazing dreams by spending five minutes prior to falling asleep to your dreams and desires. Dr. Wayne Dyer says the five minutes prior to falling asleep is pivotal as these thoughts fill your unconscious mind as you sleep creating your reality when you wake. So turn off the TV – especially news and fear based programs, and start filling your sleepy head with thoughts of your dreams and desires. Fill your head with love, gratitude, peace, kindness, and having a life abundantly filled. Fill your head with loving relationships. Fill your head with doing what you love. Fill you head with amazing vacations. Fill you head with a peaceful world. Fill your head with health. Simply fill your head with visions of your best self which is a loving, kind, fun, and compassionate person.

Quotes of the Day:

“Dreams are illustrations…from the book your soul is writing about you.”
~Marsha Norman

“I think we dream so we don’t have to be apart so long. If we’re in each other’s dreams, we can be together all the time.”
~Calvin & Hobbs

“Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it.”
~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

“Dreams are today’s answers to tomorrow’s questions.”
~Edgar Cayce

For the next week I invite you to spend five minutes before you fall asleep by filling your thoughts with:

Peace – seeing your life filled with peace, you are at peace, your family is at peace, your community is at peace, and your world is at peace.

Love – seeing your life filled with loving relationships: romantic, family, friends, and colleagues as everyone in your life is filled with love.

Faith – knowing that all is truly well in your life as even contrasting experiences simply help define what you do want.

Gratitude – being grateful for exactly where you are, where you’ve been, and where you are going.

Mostly, I wish that when you climb into bed tonight, you take with you hope, gratitude, love, appreciation, happiness, and peace and leave behind any fear based thoughts. Prepare yourself for an amazing nights sleep in which you wake up thrilled to start another day.

Until next time, sweet dreams, and realize, there is always room for a teddy bear too!

Hugs,
Carol
