Be Careful
When it rains, it pours. I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop. I wouldn’t have any luck at all if it weren’t for bad luck. Be careful what you wish for. I’m sure you are familiar with some or all of these statements. Do any of them ring true for you? A good friend of mine put a much needed twist on one of them that I love. Be careful what you worry about.
Take a moment and think about what you primarily focus on? Do you put your attention to the fear based headlines that speak to your insecurity? Do focus on what you don’t have or don’t want? Or do you put your focus on hope, goodness, good health, possibilities, prosperity, positivity, and love? Benjamin Franklin was quoted as saying “Do not anticipate trouble or worry about what may never happen. Keep in the sunlight.” If you worry about what tomorrow might bring, you are missing the opportunity to bask in the love that is around you at this moment. If you worry about what you could have, should have done differently yesterday, you are missing the opportunity to grow and blossom today.
Quotes of the Day:
“Seek not that the things which happen should happen as you wish; but wish the things which happen to be as they are, and you will have a tranquil flow of life.”
~ Epictetus
“The fact is that people are good, if only their fundamental wishes are satisfied, their wish for affection and security. Give people affection and security, and they will give affection and be secure in their feelings and their behavior.”
~ Abraham Maslow
“Worry often gives a small thing a big shadow”
~Proverb
“Worry is interest paid on trouble before it comes due.”
~ W. R. Inge
“If you ask what the single most important key to longevity is, I would have to say it is avoiding worry, stress and tension. And if you didn’t ask me, I’d still have to say it.”
~George F. Burns

For the next week, I invite you to put your attention to hope and possibilities by:
Seeing the good in every situation and focusing on the positive of it.
Loving you, others, and life.
Being gentle with yourself as you shift into a new vantage point of possibilities as there is no need to demean yourself for contrasting thoughts as they help define where you do want to go.
Allowing everyone to travel their own path even if it isn’t the path you ‘think’ they should take, simply send them down their path with love.
Mostly, I ask you to be part of the change we seek in the world filled with love, compassion, kindness, and joy by allowing your best self to shine bright. Your best self knows you are connected to humanity and in that knowing all is well. Your best self knows that enjoying this now moment perpetuates more wonderful moments to enjoy. Your best self knows that worry gets you no where and love is where life resides.
Until next time, throw caution to the wind and simply live in the sunlight of life.
Hugs,
~Carol
