Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween

So it’s the time of year for costumes, candy, and trick or treating. We put on costumes to become a different character for fun. Kids are out knocking on doors to get treats and if they don’t get them, then come the tricking part. I invite you to look at these Halloween traditions in a new light and continue having fun with them, just in a different manner.

Each day as you dress, costume yourself in truth as the successful, intelligent, kind, loving, giving person that you are and be the character of your highest good.

Trick yourself out of any false beliefs you might be carrying around on fear, lack, and judgment.

Treat yourself gently and lovingly in mind, body, and spirit.

AFFIRMATION: I am proud of who I was, who I am, and who I am becoming.

(S)he Said

“I liked seeing myself in different costumes and doing different actions. It’s a chance to be something you’re not.” ~ Bill Paxton

“The fox has many tricks. The hedgehog has but one. But that is the best of all.”  ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

“An inventor fails 999 times, and if he succeeds once, he’s in. He treats his failures simply as practice shots.”  ~ Charles Kettering

For the next week, I invite you to costume yourself:
In a big smile that tells everyone just the amazing person you are.
In an outfit of confidence and stay in awareness that you are the confidence you dressed in today.

For the next week, I invite you to trick yourself:
That worry is an old pattern of thought until it no longer has a hold on you as you truly feel all is well.
That you are worthy of greatness until it becomes your new belief that you are great.
That today is where you start living your life fulfilled until it becomes a new pattern that each day is a day of fulfillment.

For the next week, I invite you to treat yourself:
To a nice hot bubble bath
On a long walk admiring the fall changes in nature
To inspirational reading material, a funny story, or something that expands your mind
To the idea that a ‘perceived’ failure is simply a practice shot.
To some quality time for just you to sit with you and enjoy it – not thinking about what is next in the day, but rather what is right here now – your SELF.

Mostly, I invite you to live your highest self of peace, happiness, abundance, and love. Forgive yourself for past costumes you wore on fear, lack, and distrust. Appreciate your experiences and celebrate each choice, even the very small ones that you make on stepping into your truth of goodness, kindness, and love.

Until next time, life is such a treat…don’t you think?

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

Stop, Drop and Roll!

October 21st, 2009 10:48 am by Carol

stop-drop-roll

Do you remember when you were a kid and you learned how to be safe by stop, drop and roll? It was to protect you from smoke inhalation by removing you from the grips of smoke and fire.

It’s a catchy phrase that has stayed with me for years and I would like to encourage you to consider adding that to your everyday life. Most likely you won’t come across a smoke filled room you need to escape from, but I suspect you come across situations that are clouded in worry, fear, negativity, hatred, etc., etc. So rather than being consumed by the gray cloud of doom, I invite you to stop, drop, and roll.

Use stop, drop and roll to continue on the path of living your best life. Stop engaging in conversations that are fear based such as how hard life is, the economy crisis, or any other conversation that brings fear in. Drop the excuses of not being good enough and roll with life rather than fighting against it. Your job is to be happy, loving, compassionate and laughing through the journey.

Affirmation: I choose peace now.

(S)he Said:

“Take a look at your natural river. What are you? Stop playing games with yourself. Where’s your river going? Are you riding with it? Or are you rowing against it? Don’t you see that there is no effort if you’re riding with your river?” ~ Frederick (Carl) Frieseke

“The only thing that will stop you from fulfilling your dreams is you.” ~ Tom Bradley

“Do not think of your faults, still less of others’ faults; look for what is good and strong, and try to imitate it. Your faults will drop off, like dead leaves, when their time comes.” ~ John Ruskin

“That’s my gift. I let that negativity roll off me like water off a duck’s back. If it’s not positive, I didn’t hear it. If you can overcome that, fights are easy.” ~ George Foreman

For the next week I invite you to:

Stop being so hard on yourself by knowing that everything in your life is for a reason and can be changed through empowering thoughts rather than fearful ones.

Drop the excuses of not living your highest self and start appreciating exactly where you came from, where you are today, and where you are going. Through appreciation you can change your world.

Roll with life rather than fight it. Contrasting experiences serve their purpose for you to grow and evolve. They also allow the sweet experiences to even be sweeter. Roll with the peaks and valleys. Roll with the happiness and sadness. Roll with the confidence and times you may have self doubt. Roll with the knowledge that you are amazing just as you are in this moment.

Mostly, my wish is for you to be aware of where you place your focus as through awareness is where change can occur. Through awareness is where you can learn to soar where you once flew or possibly felt grounded. Through awareness you can live with peace, kindness, love, laughter, health, and absolute abundance.

Until next time, roll with it baby!

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

Doors

October 15th, 2009 10:34 am by Carol

Over the summer, I met Charlotte, a 10-year-old English girl with an old soul. We had such a fun time and she shared some of her poetry with me that I loved. I told her I would love to share it with you as well. So when she sends it to me, I’ll share it with you. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it like I do!

Doors

You’ll only know when you reach as far as you can
go and realize the door has always been open, you just couldn’t find it.
This door will be the most amazing door you will ever find.

Even though it’s just A door, once you find it, you’ll find yourself.
Reach for everything, try your best and doors will open
where you didn’t know they would be.

The doors that open for you will be the doors to your soul.
