Do You Remember

How is your memory these days? When you look back at your past experiences whether it was two hours ago or 20 years ago, how do you replay it?

When you think about a relationship that didn’t work out, do you replay the hurt, anger, disappointment? Or do you replay what brought you together in the first place, the fun, laughter and love you shared?

When you think about someone you cared who transitioned due to an illness, do you think about all the fun times you had together and celebrate the life they lived? Or do you give more attention to the disease that ‘took’ them and remember those final days rather than the rest of their life?

When you think about work, do you immediately turn to moments of perceived failure, lack of support, or just getting by? Or do you focus on those moments that you simply ROCKED and realized that you truly were an important part of the team regardless of your role?

You get to choose how you remember every experience, so choose the ones that will move you forward – happier and healthier.

AFFIRMATION: Today I remember all of my great qualities and I share them with the world.

“The difference between false memories and true ones is the same as for jewels: it is always the false ones that look the most real, the most brilliant.” ~Salvador Dali

“I’ve never tried to block out the memories of the past, even though some are painful. I don’t understand people who hide from their past. Everything you live through helps to make you the person you are now.” ~Sophia Loren

For the next week I invite you to remember:

The power the now moment provides you. You don’t have to replay any past ‘negative’ experience as you can start in this moment on living your highest life while you release past limiting beliefs.

Compassion for yourself. Rather than beating yourself up for past ‘hurts, wrongs, etc.’, think of yourself as your friend. You are gentle with your friends when they are dealing with contrasting experiences – how about being gentle with you?

Your funny bone! Laughter is truly the best medicine. If you can bring humor to any experience, your today and every tomorrow will be lighter and a lot more fun.

Mostly, I ask you to look at your memories (even the contrasting one) with appreciation and gentleness. Today in this moment, you have the ability to live your highest life regardless of your past experiences and your dreamed about future Today is the day I ask you to remember who you are right now – loving, kind, fun, and compassionate.

Until next time, remember to be kind, loving, and gentle to you and to others.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.
~Carol
