Life is Awesome

May 26th, 2010 07:29 am by Carol

One of my favorite words, which is highly overused by me is awesome. I catch myself saying it all the time and I’ve even tried to come up with another word to replace it, but it’s reliable, it’s always there, it’s simply awesome. I finally realized why it resonates with me almost to the point of it losing its value. I find something to be in awe of every day. I’m in awe of visionaries who choose to follow their passion even when the majority can’t see it as a reality. The many things we take for granted today were a yesterday vision filled with people saying – that isn’t possible, it can’t be done, etc. Tons of steel fly through the air carrying hundreds of people safely to their destination- now that’s awesome. Worldwide travel used to be done by ships. Traffic is routed through overpasses and underpasses intertwined and I’m in awe of how that was designed. Do you think people on horses and buggy’s thought that was possible? And let’s not even discuss the visionaries of the pyramids!  I’m in awe of the fact, that when I finish today’s message and hit the send button, in an instant it’s sent to Australia. I’m in awe of people facing seemingly insurmountable challenges, yet they surpass them. I’m in awe of people who choose love even if fear is a predominate theme of those around them. I’m in awe of you every time you say yes to your dreams and desires.

Perhaps your dreams and desires seem too big to accomplish, but know you aren’t alone. Every visionary before you had some doubt that they could make it happen. However, their passion and belief was stronger than that fear. Watch your dreams grow as you nurture them with hope, faith, belief, and love.

Affirmation: I live from a space of awe and wonder allowing the very best to unfold.

For the next week, I  invite you to see the awesomeness in your life by:

Being aware of life. As you head to work, pay attention to your surroundings. Appreciate the traffic lights as a gift to keep things in a safe and reasonable flow. When you become aware of your surroundings, I promise you that you will find many things to be in awe of.

Listening to you. Often it’s not fear of our dreams, but fear of not knowing what we want to be when we grow up. We want to be happy, healthy, and safe. So listen to you on what makes you the happiest and follow that dream.

Serving others in need. Go to a soup kitchen, volunteer, etc. If you are finding your personal life filled with challenges, there is little more rewarding then helping another. You will be in awe of the human spirit witnessing people doing their best.

Mostly, my wish for you is to see how awesome you truly are. There is only one of you in this world, so share your uniqueness by being your best self. Choose love over fear. Choose happiness over sadness. Choose health over illness. Choose abundance over lack. Choose to be gentle with yourself and others along life’s journey.

Until next time, have a week filled with the most awesome experiences ever! Now – that’s awesome!

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

Focused Family – May Issue

Focused Family

Teaching Your Children Law Of Attraction

Welcome to Focused Family, our monthly newsletter on teaching the law of attraction to children.  We’re very happy and excited that you’re here. Each month we’ll share a parenting tip, a game to play, and a powerful child manifestation story to keep you inspired and focused on created the best possible family.

I’m so happy and grateful to share this work with you.  Until next month… dream big and keep focusing on what you’re wanting.

“Your children will see what you’re all about by what you live rather than what you say.” ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

Parent tip of the month:  Be Kind

I’m sure you’ve heard people say, “If you have a choice to be right or be kind…..choose kindness.”  That’s a very strong lesson for adults and kids. I recently read a quote from Neale Donald Walsch that read: “Winning an argument is never the goal of a spiritual master. Winning someone’s heart is.” When is the last time you worried about winning someone’s heart in an argument? (I know I don’t do that very often). How would we present ourselves as parents if we embraced that lesson?  How would we look to our children if the next time an argument popped up, we chose kindness? Can we teach our kids through our example that it’s more important to be kind then to be right? You don’t have to set aside your integrity to bow out of an argument. You might have to set aside your anger. But wouldn’t that be worth it in the end? Is the point of an argument to be right? Or would the ultimate end of an argument be that you were a shining example of kindness? How would people react to you if you lived that way? Kinder perhaps?  J  It all comes full circle.  So the next time you’re angry and arguments are brewing, try setting aside your anger and try this new approach.  Try to win that persons heart, or at least be kind. Your kids will notice the difference.

Monthly game:  Future Pull

There’s a wonderful process we use in the law of attraction world called Future Pulls (like pulling in the future).  This is a really fun process you can play with your kids of any age. Here’s how it goes. When you have something you’re trying to create, yourself, or for the family, or your child is focusing on, you can get together and talk about it as if it’s already happened. It’s a wonderful way to get you into that feeling place of having those things. Here’s an example: Let’s say your daughter is trying out for the high school soft ball team. She’s very excited to play on the team but not sure she’ll make it. You can arrange a time to do a future pull with the family. When she comes home from school one day (with her knowing this is happening) you’ll all jump for joy that she made the team. And you can talk about it as if it’s already happened. Ask her ‘how does it feel’? Tell her ‘great job honey, you made it’. Say all those things you would say if it really did happen. As the recipient of this praise it’s a great feeling place to be in. You can also do future pulls where 2 people talk about the 3rd person as if they’re not there. My nephew likes to do future pulls about the different careers he want to have when he’s older. He’s only 7 but we’ll sit down and talk about it. “Look at him now; he’s a doctor, wow that’s impressive.” And “did you hear he got his race car license?” He’ll give us a theme and we’ll talk about it in front of him as if it’s already happened. He loves it. Its fun to get into that feeling place and this game is a great way to get you there.

The latest and greatest Kids Manifestation Story:

My friend has a 3-year-old who’s a very old soul. Immediately when she began to talk she would talk about horses. She was crazy about them. She would ask for them, point to them, and tell stories about them. My friend would tell me all the time about the wonderful opportunities that would then present themselves for her daughter to be around horses. One time a horse and buggy stopped as they were walking down the street in Charleston, SC and offered them a free ride home.  Another friend gave them tickets to the Kentucky Derby. And one of the babysitters they hired had a horse of her own. They swear that their daughter created all of this because of her passionate love for horses. I’m sure that’s true.

Do you have any kid’s manifestation stories you’d like to share.  E-mail me at steffani@postive-focus.com I’d love to hear about your powerful kids.

I’m so happy and grateful to share this work with you.  Until next month… dream big and keep focusing on what you’re wanting.

Baby Steps

May 19th, 2010 04:46 pm by Carol

Have you ever watched a baby learning to walk? He starts off by scooting on the floor with his arms pulling him towards his goal. The next thing you know, he is on all fours rocking back and forth. Now that he is rocking and rolling, before your very eyes, he takes off crawling! The world is a different place for him as he is mobile. He can now start reaching his dreams on his own. Mommy and daddy don’t have to give him the toy anymore, he can go get it! It’s time for more adventures, and his next step is pulling himself up and standing as he holds on to furniture. He is wobbly and falls easily, but he is determined to see the world from a new vantage point. Finally, just out of his reach, he sees something so enticing that he must have it. It could be a toy, the family pet, or the outreached arms of mommy or daddy, but he must get there. The desire to reach that dream far outweighs the fear of falling. He lets go of the security of holding on and steps towards his dreams. He is walking! Sure there are some slips and falls along the way, but he is walking, and before you know it, he is running toward his dreams full of confidence and ready to grow and explore.

Just like a baby, you too can move towards your dreams and desires with baby steps.

Affirmation: I am creating my dreams one step at a time.

For the next week I invite you to move towards your dreams by:

Being at peace at where you are now, where you’ve been, and where you are going.

Releasing any fear and doubt however it shows up – not being good enough, not having the right resources, or not knowing where and how to start.

Visualize your dreams by seeing them as a movie. Write your own script, become the star, and simply know that as your movie plays, you can always make edits and rewrite the ending to meet your new dreams and desires.

Be grateful for all the little dreams that are coming true in your life. Say thank you to the little miracles that show up as you are building your dream muscles each time you recognize your successes regardless of the size.

Mostly, whether you sit, crawl, walk, or run, I encourage you to keep moving towards your dreams. Live your highest life of peace, happiness, compassion, service, and love for yourself, for others, and for life.

Until next time, keep on keeping on.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.
