You’ve Got A Friend

August 25th, 2010 10:06 am by Carol

That was stupid. I can’t do that. I’m not deserving of that. I’m too old, too young, too skinny, too fat, too tall, or too short. I am undeserving. Do any of these comments sound familiar to you? I bet you have said these to yourself in the past or possibly still do. The list is endless of negative self talk. However, it’s just as endless for positive self talk – you choose what to affirm whether positive of negative.

Now let’s wipe off the ick from those statements and ask yourself if you would say any of those comments to your best friend? The answer is NO. You would realize these statements would just perpetuate their negative self talk. You would choose affirmative comments and help make them feel better because they are YOUR best friend.

How about being your own best friend and catching your own negative self talk and turning it around to be supportive and loving? Rather than talking yourself down, talk yourself up. Rather than giving yourself a hard time, be gentle with yourself. Talk to yourself about solutions rather than problems. Talk to yourself about blessings rather than hardships. Talk to yourself about gratitude rather than lack.

Affirmation: I am an amazing friend to myself and others.

For the next week I invite you to be your own best friend by:

Giving yourself five compliments each day. If you are struggling to come up with five compliments, think of things you say to your friends. Or think of things friends say to you and repeat them to yourself.

Treating yourself the way you treat your best friend going through a challenging time by being gentle, loving, and supportive.

Motivating yourself with excitement and eagerness to start whatever it is you’ve been putting off and beating yourself up about.

Laughing at yourself several times a day just the way you laugh with your friends.

Mostly, I invite you to truly think of yourself as your own best friend. Be your biggest cheerleader rather than heckler. Be pro you rather than anti self. Be hopeful rather than worried. Anytime you start the negative self talk, ask yourself, would you say that to your best friend? And I bet the answer is – NO!

Until next time, have fun my friend.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

Focused Family

Teaching Your Children Law Of Attraction

“Your children will see what you’re all about by what you live rather than what you say.”

~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

Welcome to Focused Family!

Welcome to Focused Family, our monthly newsletter on teaching the law of attraction to children.  We’re very happy and excited that you’re here. Each month we’ll share a parent tip, a game or exercise to share with your kids, and a powerful child manifestation story to keep you inspired and focused on created the best possible family.

I’m so happy and grateful to share this work with you.  Until next month… dream big and keep focusing on what you’re wanting.

Parent tip of the month:

How often do you travel?  Do you love it?  Is it challenging?  Either way, do you talk about traveling and different cultures with your kids?  Kids learn about our world through our eyes at first.  So if we’re stuck in one place what does that teach them?  We want to show our children a limitless world, a world full of different people, places, cultures and traditions.  Let’s talk to our kids about the different areas of the world.  If we can, let’s bring them there.  If not, talk to them and show them how unique our world can be.  You can pick up travel magazines and books on travel.  You can also experience different cultural restaurants, fairs, neighborhoods and street festivals. Don’t just let it pass you by.  Explain to your kids what each different culture is like and learn a little about it on your own.  If we can’t bring our kids to the unique cultures we can still bring unique culture to our kids.  Explore away!

Play With Me: Apps!

There are some really fun iPhone apps that you can share with your kids that will help you to keep them focusing on their dreams and bring more LOA into their lives.  I’m sure they’re available as apps for any type of cell phone with those features.  A couple of fun ones that I’ve found are:

Vision Board ~ this is an app where you can design a vision board with your own photos and words and/or choose from some of their stock photos.  It’s a fun way to play and dream with your child.

Distant Shore~ this is a simple app where you walk along the beach and collect shells.  When you collect 5 shells you get a bottle that you can write a note in and launch it into the ocean.  Someone across the globe can open your bottle and answer you.  I like to use this app to launch my dreams and wishes.  It’s usually a lot of fun to get a reply.  I usually start with “I’m so happy and grateful that…” and launch from there.

Louise Hay Cards ~ there are some great and powerful cards that you can flip through and read some powerful affirmations to your kids.

Esther and Jerry Hicks~ they have The Law of Attraction Cards.  These cards have positive inspiring messages to share.

I’m sure there are more wonderful LOA apps out there.  You can search some key words that would be fun for your family and play away.  If you have favorite apps please let me know.  Enjoy and have fun!

Kid Power

The latest and greatest Kids Manifestation Story:

My friend has a daughter who loved a certain teacher at school.  She was really upset when she had to move schools and leave him.  She pined over him daily.  And knelt down at night and prayed for him and for him to be her teacher again.  Since she had moved from North Carolina to Connecticut this seemed like a very far-fetched plan.  This teacher had been working at that school for over 10 years.  But she prayed and she dreamed.  Sure enough only 2 short years later they announced a new principal at her school. It was the teacher she knew and loved.  Without knowing she was there he had moved and been assigned to the school she went to.  Imagine his surprise when he saw her in the hallway.  She wasn’t surprised at all.  To her it was just a dream come true.  And those happen all the time.  J

Do you have any kid’s manifestation stories you’d like to share.  E-mail me at steffani@postive-focus.com I’d love to hear about your powerful kids.

I’m so happy and grateful to share this work with you.  Until next month… dream big and keep focusing on what you’re wanting.

Life is good,

You Are Cordially Invited…

August 18th, 2010 08:47 am by Carol

Have you ever filled your head with thoughts of if only I was younger/older, skinnier/bigger, prettier/plainer, book smart/street smart, if if if. Or I’ll be happy when I make more money, I am thinner, I am in a relationship, I have the job of my dreams. Or how about the I should have thoughts? I should have completed my degree, I should have exercised today, I should, should should. Then there is the shouldn’t that fill our heads. I shouldn’t eat that, I shouldn’t buy that, I shouldn’t, shouldn’t, shouldn’t. Frankly, all the excuses we use to hold ourselves back from living the life of our dreams is exhausting.

You are cordially invited to join me in living your best life. I can’t tell you what that looks like as the joy of living is we all desire different things so your best life will look different from others. I can tell you living your best life is filled with thoughts that empower you. It is filled with loving thoughts, happy thoughts, abundant thoughts, healthy thoughts and peaceful thoughts. Your thoughts are in the moment of today, appreciating your yesterday for bringing you to this moment, and looking forward to your tomorrows knowing that each positive thought breeds more positivity in your life. Your best life is filled with thoughts of seeing the perfection of imperfection and knowing the journey IS the living your best life. As when you are feeling good about you, others, and the world, you are living your best life.

Affirmation: I invite amazing people and experiences into my life and welcome them with open arms.

(S)he Said:

“Love…Force it and it disappears. You cannot will love, nor even control it. You can only guide its expression. It comes or it goes according to those qualities in life that invite it or deny its presence.”  ~ David Seabury.

“We have nothing in our history or position to invite aggression; we have everything to beckon us to the cultivation of relations of peace and amity with all nations.” ~Franklin Pierce Adams

“Seeds of faith are always within us; sometimes it takes a crisis to nourish and encourage their growth.” ~ Susan Taylor

For the next week, I invite you to accept my invitation of living your best life by:

Appreciating the big and small miracles each day. When you begin to appreciate the smallest miracle, they grow and grow. Appreciate something as basic as the sun coming up each morning. It’s easy to take something that happens daily for granted, but there are parts of the world that doesn’t see the sun for a long time.

Choosing positive thoughts and feelings. You might not have control of the outer world, but you do have control of your reactions to the world around you. Choose thoughts and feelings that empower you and others.

Being aware of your conversation with yourself (what you are saying in your head) and to others. Simply be aware of your conversations and ask yourself later, without judgment, if you are empowering yourself and others by your conversations. I think you’ll find a lot of conversations are founded in fear rather than love (gossip, judgment, frustration, anger). From awareness, you can choose if it empowers or dis-empowers you.

Starting each day excited about the possibilities and potential that are ahead of you today.

Mostly, I ask you accept my invitation and say YES to living your highest self and shining bright while allowing others to shine their light bright! Perhaps we’ll create the Northern Lights worldwide.

Until next time, this is an open invitation – ALL are welcome.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

~ Carol
