Focused Family

Teaching Your Children Law Of Attraction

“Your children will see what you’re all about by what you live rather than what you say.”

~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

Welcome to Focused Family!

Welcome to Focused Family, our monthly newsletter on teaching the law of attraction to children.  We’re very happy and excited that you’re here. Each month we’ll share a parent tip, a game or exercise to share with your kids, and a powerful child manifestation story to keep you inspired and focused on created the best possible family.

I’m so happy and grateful to share this work with you.  Until next month… dream big and keep focusing on what you’re wanting.

Parent tip of the month:

How often do you travel?  Do you love it?  Is it challenging?  Either way, do you talk about traveling and different cultures with your kids?  Kids learn about our world through our eyes at first.  So if we’re stuck in one place what does that teach them?  We want to show our children a limitless world, a world full of different people, places, cultures and traditions.  Let’s talk to our kids about the different areas of the world.  If we can, let’s bring them there.  If not, talk to them and show them how unique our world can be.  You can pick up travel magazines and books on travel.  You can also experience different cultural restaurants, fairs, neighborhoods and street festivals. Don’t just let it pass you by.  Explain to your kids what each different culture is like and learn a little about it on your own.  If we can’t bring our kids to the unique cultures we can still bring unique culture to our kids.  Explore away!

Play With Me: Apps!

There are some really fun iPhone apps that you can share with your kids that will help you to keep them focusing on their dreams and bring more LOA into their lives.  I’m sure they’re available as apps for any type of cell phone with those features.  A couple of fun ones that I’ve found are:

Vision Board ~ this is an app where you can design a vision board with your own photos and words and/or choose from some of their stock photos.  It’s a fun way to play and dream with your child.

Distant Shore~ this is a simple app where you walk along the beach and collect shells.  When you collect 5 shells you get a bottle that you can write a note in and launch it into the ocean.  Someone across the globe can open your bottle and answer you.  I like to use this app to launch my dreams and wishes.  It’s usually a lot of fun to get a reply.  I usually start with “I’m so happy and grateful that…” and launch from there.

Louise Hay Cards ~ there are some great and powerful cards that you can flip through and read some powerful affirmations to your kids.

Esther and Jerry Hicks~ they have The Law of Attraction Cards.  These cards have positive inspiring messages to share.

I’m sure there are more wonderful LOA apps out there.  You can search some key words that would be fun for your family and play away.  If you have favorite apps please let me know.  Enjoy and have fun!

The latest and greatest Kids Manifestation Story:

My friend has a daughter who loved a certain teacher at school.  She was really upset when she had to move schools and leave him.  She pined over him daily.  And knelt down at night and prayed for him and for him to be her teacher again.  Since she had moved from North Carolina to Connecticut this seemed like a very far-fetched plan.  This teacher had been working at that school for over 10 years.  But she prayed and she dreamed.  Sure enough only 2 short years later they announced a new principal at her school. It was the teacher she knew and loved.  Without knowing she was there he had moved and been assigned to the school she went to.  Imagine his surprise when he saw her in the hallway.  She wasn’t surprised at all.  To her it was just a dream come true.  And those happen all the time.  J

Do you have any kid’s manifestation stories you’d like to share.  E-mail me at steffani@postive-focus.com I’d love to hear about your powerful kids.

Focused Family

Teaching Your Children Law Of Attraction

“Your children will see what you’re all about by what you live rather than what you say.” ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

Welcome to Focused Family!

Due to warm weather, fire flies, long sunny days and warm summer breezes we will only be posting one newsletter for June and July.  We’ll see you again in August.  Until then, enjoy your family and the summer!

Parent tip of the month:

The 4 Agreements

One of the most life changing books I ever read was The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz.  This book gives you 4 simple agreements that you can keep with yourself to move your life from stressful thoughts and experiences into peace.  What we tend to do is sit around and think that everyone else needs to change.  You can’t sit around hoping that everyone else will behave.  That everyone else will be nice and treat you with respect.  That everyone will be loving, kind and considerate.  YOU have to do it.  You’re the only person who you can change.  So stop trying to change everyone else first and start with the person whose life you can control, yours.  Amazing things happen when you try to “be the change you wish to see”.  Especially when you focus on you.

So with that I give you the four agreements.  I follow these every day and find them very effective.

#1.  Be impeccable with your word.

Speak with integrity.  Say only what you mean.  Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others.  Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

#2.  Don’t take anything personally.

Nothing others do is because of you.  What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream.  When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

#3.  Never make assumptions.

Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want.  Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama.  With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

#4.  Always do your best.

Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick.  Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse, and regret.

No matter what comes your way, if you follow these 4 agreements you will find more acceptances, more peace and less stress.  I know they sound easier said than done but its practice that makes it possible.  Every one of us wants a pleasant, happy and fun family environment.  Practicing these four agreements will get you there.  You’ll notice a difference immediately.  Just these four agreements can drastically change your life.  (Notice I didn’t mention changing anyone else. :)

Summer Fun!

I’m so happy that it’s summertime!  Do you remember how long summer felt when you were a kid?  Probably because you had no obligations, no deadlines, no to do lists.  And also no cell phones, no blackberries, no social media websites.  This summer why don’t you connect with summer, and with your kids?  Show them what you used to love to do in the summer.  Jump in a lake, take long bike rides.  Put the iphones down and play ding dong ditch or kick the can.  Camp in the backyard and roast marshmallows.  Stay off the internet and instead think about what lights you up inside?  Show that to your kids.  Do you love to swing?  Do that!  Do you love to swim?  Do that!  Do you love to listen to music outdoors or watch a movie in the back yard?  Do that! Do those things this summer that you LOVE to do.  That make you smile and remind you that summer is only a few short months now a days.  Fall will be here before you know it.  So talk to your kids about what you used to love to do every summer.  And make a plan to do that with them.  Your connection will mean more to them then you know.  And you just might find yourself thinking the summer feels longer than usual.  Wouldn’t that be nice?!  :)   Enjoy the summer!

The latest and greatest Kids Manifestation Story:

Here’s a story from one of our readers Seema about her daughter Dharma.  I’m sure we’ll be seeing some amazing things from Dharma in this lifetime!

When my daughter was 3 years old, we were out shopping one day. She saw a whole Polly Pocket Cinderella set and begged me for it. Knowing that she already had the Cinderella doll at home, I asked what it was about the set that caught her eye, and she pointed to a half-inch sized figure of Gus, the chubby mouse from the story. I told her kindly that I could not purchase the whole set just for the one little mouse she wanted, but that I was certain she would get everything she ever wanted in her own way.

The next week we were at a friend’s house for a play-date, a home where she spent every day of her first year of life and once a week for the next 2 years. She knew EVERY toy in this home (and there were tons!). To my amazement, she came running up to me saying, “mommy, look what I found!” and in her hand was a huge 3″ FAT CHUBBY GUS that neither of us had ever seen there before. Before I could respond, her friend came trailing behind saying, “you can have that if you want it.”

Since that day, I have never doubted my children’s most powerful ability to create their own universes!

Thank you Seema for sharing!

Food Service: We continue to host two monthly options on serving those in need with our sack lunch social and our feed the hungry and feed the soul events.

Social Service: We also continue to facilitate free hugs twice a month and would love to see more join us there too.

How can you help? By signing up for our current events, by suggesting and leading other gives back events, by sharing our vision with your family and friends as we share a positive focus with the world.

Daily tips on giving:

Smile and make eye contact with strangers as you pass them on the street as a simple smile can brighten a persons day.

Hold the door open and let others go first.

Help someone who has their hands full – especially if they have little kids with them.
Compliment and thank people for their efforts.

Choose to see the best in everyone, even if they aren’t giving you their best by knowing at our core, we all want love, health, and security.

Be a receiver. Graciously accept it when people hold the door open for you, pay for your coffee, or do some kind gesture. Resist saying ‘you shouldn’t have’ and simply say ‘thank you’ as you are allowing others to give.

When people say ‘thank you’ to you, simply say ‘you are welcome,’ rather than ‘it’s no problem, etc.’

Give yourself a heaping of love as you can’t give what you don’t have, so fill yourself up and then share!!

What Our Givers Are Saying About Past Events…

Food Service:

This is the perfect blend of helping others and simply having fun! Great job organizing this. Thanks everyone for bringing food and sharing in the fun. And a big thanks to Betty for delivering the sack lunches to the center!

Wonderful group of friends, new and old. Such stimulating conversation, common vantage point of Positive Thinking and Openness.

Smaller group than we’ve had but still great fun and good conversation.

Great group last night for sack lunch. Great new people and love the conversation with Carol, Bob, John, Jeff and Cathy, very positive experience and inspiring group. Thanks again for hosting Cathy!

Good News Kitchen is always a great give back event. Thanks for organizing.

Always fun, great group, great cause.

Although we were short staffed, it went well and is very rewarding to serve this community.

Fun people, great conversation, amazing cause! :)

Free Hugs:

A beautiful day and wonderful people to share hugs with. Lots of people wanted pictures for their own memories.

I don’t think I’ll ever tire of free hugs as each time there are perfect examples of why we are out there.

This is one of the most fulfilling events ever!!!

It’s amazing. I can’t explain how uplifting it is to cause a ripple of smiles from every passerby, and to see their happiness as people embrace in a warm hug, out of the blue and quite unexpected. The little gifts we receive when we least expect it : )

Free hugs never ceases to amaze me. It started out wet, cold, and windy and I thought we might hug for 10 minutes. The rain stopped before we started, the sun came out and we gave out around 800 hugs! Truly an amazing free hug day!

Global Free Hugs Day was…wonderful…It always is. It’s a completely different experience every time that has such an unexpected lasting profounp effect on me.

Amazing!!!!! So many hugs, so much love! Xoxoxo

Another amazing day of Hugging! there was a great vibe amongst the people who shared in the Hugs and i thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Always amazing!

Global Activism Expo:

great music, food and the opportunity to learn about many global causes with many possibilities to participate. A new location this year, better organized with plenty of parking.

First time I have attended this event but it was quite interesting and I will look into seeing if it’s a good fit for Positive Focus next year.
