Have you ever truly taken notice of what you say? Have you every truly taken notice of what you think about? Have you ever truly taken notice of how you feel?

When it’s a rainy day are you enjoying the sounds as the rain hits a surface? Are you breathing in the fresh scent that is distinct to rain? Do you notice how the weather makes you feel? Do you think about playing in the puddles? Or do you think about tracking in mud?

When you watch the news about our current state of economy, do you take notice on how it makes you feel? Does it invigorate you and motivate you for inspired action on change? Or do you think fearful thoughts.

I absolutely love that we all get to choose how we see life. You get to choose how to see the world at large. You can choose to see the upside or downside of life. You get to choose if you see life through loving eyes, or fearful eyes. You get to choose, so choose what makes you feel good. Choose what makes you think highly of yourself and others. Choose what makes you speak highly of yourself and others. Choose your life from a space of love.

Affirmation: I have an abundance of love to share with myself, others, and the world.

(S)he Said:

“If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought.” ~ Peace Pilgrim

“The more man meditates upon good thoughts; the better will be his world and the world at large.” ~ Confucius

For the next week I invite you to fill your head with:

Thoughts of joy – if you are currently living your dream life, be grateful and celebrate it.

Thoughts of joy – if you are currently dealing with contrasting experiences be joyful that they are there to show you what you don’t want as then you can move your thoughts towards what you do want.

Thoughts of joy – when you find yourself in a moment of judgment (yourself or others), choose to replace those thoughts with love and compassion.

Mostly, I invite you fill your head with thoughts of love. Love for yourself, love for your family, love for your friends, love for the planet, love for humanity, and simply choose that “LOVE IS”. When faced with a challenging situation, ask yourself what would love say, think, or feel.
Until next week, fill your heart with joyful thoughts of love, peace, harmony, and absolute abundance in every aspect of your life.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

That was stupid. I can’t do that. I’m not deserving of that. I’m too old, too young, too skinny, too fat, too tall, or too short. I am undeserving. Do any of these comments sound familiar to you? I bet you have said these to yourself in the past or possibly still do. The list is endless of negative self talk. However, it’s just as endless for positive self talk – you choose what to affirm whether positive of negative.

Now let’s wipe off the ick from those statements and ask yourself if you would say any of those comments to your best friend? The answer is NO. You would realize these statements would just perpetuate their negative self talk. You would choose affirmative comments and help make them feel better because they are YOUR best friend.

How about being your own best friend and catching your own negative self talk and turning it around to be supportive and loving? Rather than talking yourself down, talk yourself up. Rather than giving yourself a hard time, be gentle with yourself. Talk to yourself about solutions rather than problems. Talk to yourself about blessings rather than hardships. Talk to yourself about gratitude rather than lack.

Affirmation: I am an amazing friend to myself and others.

“A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked.” ~ Bernard Meltzer

“Silence is the true friend that never betrays.” ~ Confucius

For the next week I invite you to be your own best friend by:

Giving yourself five compliments each day. If you are struggling to come up with five compliments, think of things you say to your friends. Or think of things friends say to you and repeat them to yourself.

Treating yourself the way you treat your best friend going through a challenging time by being gentle, loving, and supportive.

Motivating yourself with excitement and eagerness to start whatever it is you’ve been putting off and beating yourself up about.

Laughing at yourself several times a day just the way you laugh with your friends.

Mostly, I invite you to truly think of yourself as your own best friend. Be your biggest cheerleader rather than heckler. Be pro you rather than anti self. Be hopeful rather than worried. Anytime you start the negative self talk, ask yourself, would you say that to your best friend? And I bet the answer is – NO!

Until next time, have fun my friend.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

Welcome to Focused Family, our monthly newsletter on teaching the law of attraction to children. We’re very happy and excited that you’re here. Each month we’ll share a parent tip, a game or exercise to share with your kids, and a powerful child manifestation story to keep you inspired and focused on created the best possible family.

I’m so happy and grateful to share this work with you. Until next month… dream big and keep focusing on what you’re wanting.

Parent tip of the month:

How often do you travel? Do you love it? Is it challenging? Either way, do you talk about traveling and different cultures with your kids? Kids learn about our world through our eyes at first. So if we’re stuck in one place what does that teach them? We want to show our children a limitless world, a world full of different people, places, cultures and traditions. Let’s talk to our kids about the different areas of the world. If we can, let’s bring them there. If not, talk to them and show them how unique our world can be. You can pick up travel magazines and books on travel. You can also experience different cultural restaurants, fairs, neighborhoods and street festivals. Don’t just let it pass you by. Explain to your kids what each different culture is like and learn a little about it on your own. If we can’t bring our kids to the unique cultures we can still bring unique culture to our kids. Explore away!

Play With Me: Apps!

There are some really fun iPhone apps that you can share with your kids that will help you to keep them focusing on their dreams and bring more LOA into their lives. I’m sure they’re available as apps for any type of cell phone with those features. A couple of fun ones that I’ve found are:

Vision Board ~ this is an app where you can design a vision board with your own photos and words and/or choose from some of their stock photos. It’s a fun way to play and dream with your child.

Distant Shore~ this is a simple app where you walk along the beach and collect shells. When you collect 5 shells you get a bottle that you can write a note in and launch it into the ocean. Someone across the globe can open your bottle and answer you. I like to use this app to launch my dreams and wishes. It’s usually a lot of fun to get a reply. I usually start with “I’m so happy and grateful that…” and launch from there.

Louise Hay Cards ~ there are some great and powerful cards that you can flip through and read some powerful affirmations to your kids.

Esther and Jerry Hicks~ they have The Law of Attraction Cards. These cards have positive inspiring messages to share.

I’m sure there are more wonderful LOA apps out there. You can search some key words that would be fun for your family and play away. If you have favorite apps please let me know. Enjoy and have fun!

Kid Power

The latest and greatest Kids Manifestation Story:

My friend has a daughter who loved a certain teacher at school. She was really upset when she had to move schools and leave him. She pined over him daily. And knelt down at night and prayed for him and for him to be her teacher again. Since she had moved from North Carolina to Connecticut this seemed like a very far-fetched plan. This teacher had been working at that school for over 10 years. But she prayed and she dreamed. Sure enough only 2 short years later they announced a new principal at her school. It was the teacher she knew and loved. Without knowing she was there he had moved and been assigned to the school she went to. Imagine his surprise when he saw her in the hallway. She wasn’t surprised at all. To her it was just a dream come true. And those happen all the time. J

Do you have any kid’s manifestation stories you’d like to share. E-mail me at steffani@postive-focus.com I’d love to hear about your powerful kids.

I’m so happy and grateful to share this work with you. Until next month… dream big and keep focusing on what you’re wanting.

Have you ever filled your head with thoughts of if only I was younger/older, skinnier/bigger, prettier/plainer, book smart/street smart, if if if. Or I’ll be happy when I make more money, I am thinner, I am in a relationship, I have the job of my dreams. Or how about the I should have thoughts? I should have completed my degree, I should have exercised today, I should, should should. Then there is the shouldn’t that fill our heads. I shouldn’t eat that, I shouldn’t buy that, I shouldn’t, shouldn’t, shouldn’t. Frankly, all the excuses we use to hold ourselves back from living the life of our dreams is exhausting.

You are cordially invited to join me in living your best life. I can’t tell you what that looks like as the joy of living is we all desire different things so your best life will look different from others. I can tell you living your best life is filled with thoughts that empower you. It is filled with loving thoughts, happy thoughts, abundant thoughts, healthy thoughts and peaceful thoughts. Your thoughts are in the moment of today, appreciating your yesterday for bringing you to this moment, and looking forward to your tomorrows knowing that each positive thought breeds more positivity in your life. Your best life is filled with thoughts of seeing the perfection of imperfection and knowing the journey IS the living your best life. As when you are feeling good about you, others, and the world, you are living your best life.

Affirmation: I invite amazing people and experiences into my life and welcome them with open arms.

(S)he Said:

“Love…Force it and it disappears. You cannot will love, nor even control it. You can only guide its expression. It comes or it goes according to those qualities in life that invite it or deny its presence.” ~ David Seabury.

“We have nothing in our history or position to invite aggression; we have everything to beckon us to the cultivation of relations of peace and amity with all nations.” ~Franklin Pierce Adams

“Seeds of faith are always within us; sometimes it takes a crisis to nourish and encourage their growth.” ~ Susan Taylor

For the next week, I invite you to accept my invitation of living your best life by:

Appreciating the big and small miracles each day. When you begin to appreciate the smallest miracle, they grow and grow. Appreciate something as basic as the sun coming up each morning. It’s easy to take something that happens daily for granted, but there are parts of the world that doesn’t see the sun for a long time.

Choosing positive thoughts and feelings. You might not have control of the outer world, but you do have control of your reactions to the world around you. Choose thoughts and feelings that empower you and others.

Being aware of your conversation with yourself (what you are saying in your head) and to others. Simply be aware of your conversations and ask yourself later, without judgment, if you are empowering yourself and others by your conversations. I think you’ll find a lot of conversations are founded in fear rather than love (gossip, judgment, frustration, anger). From awareness, you can choose if it empowers or dis-empowers you.

Starting each day excited about the possibilities and potential that are ahead of you today.

Mostly, I ask you accept my invitation and say YES to living your highest self and shining bright while allowing others to shine their light bright! Perhaps we’ll create the Northern Lights worldwide.

Until next time, this is an open invitation – ALL are welcome.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

More than ever before, world news comes to you at lightning speed from online news sources, breaking news on TV, and Social Media such as Twitter and Facebook. The news is slick, savvy, and often fear based. I was recently asked how do I stay positive with so much going wrong in the world. It was such a great question, I felt I should share my response with you. She shared information on a tragic situation going on in the world, so how do you pull the positive in such tragedy?

Many of us have had those thoughts of feeling sorrow, sadness, and despair for events happening in our life as well as the world, and thus feel powerless with no control.

So, how can I stay positive while seeing the challenges others in the world are facing?

Sometimes the only positive in heartbreaking events far above my ability to comprehend, is knowing love lives there too, and I hold on to that.

I don’t have a magic wand to cure the world from sorrow and fear with one swoop. But what I do have is the capacity to be the best world citizen I can be.

Some days that might look like getting involved with organizations that share missions of positive solutions and focus on love, health, peace and abundance rather than have a fear focus of fighting.

Some days it’s the simple gesture of free hugs and creating global free hugs twice a year to allow people to know they matter.

Most days it looks like personally living a happy life and by others seeing my happiness, aspire to be happy as well, trickle effect.

Most days it looks like posting a positive message on Facebook and writing an affirmative message weekly to hopefully inspire/empower people to look through a positive filter at the world.

Most days I know that without contrast in our lives, we wouldn’t be able to recognize the wonders.

Most days I understand that even in the most challenging circumstances, hope and love lives there and good comes out of it. I don’t always see it right away, but I have faith and trust it’s there.

Most days I understand worry only begets more worry, so I focus on love over fear, abundance over lack, diversity over differences, and peace over conflict.

Most days its remembering that everyone wants and deserves a life of health, happiness, peace, and security, even those we might label ‘enemy’.

There are many conflicts in the world that can be overwhelming and thus feeling far too big to fix. So each day, I choose to be my best self, forgive myself when I am not giving the world my best, forgive others when needed, and ask for forgiveness from others when needed.

I invite you to look for a better feeling place and from that space, ask yourself how you can help. I don’t know what that looks like to you, but I’m sure it will help you feel empowered. Whether it’s simply being your best self, or getting involved with others who are peacefully making a difference, you’ll know what’s right for you. Finding the peace within you about life’s challenges helps to create the peace on our outer world.

Affirmation: I see all the possibilities within any challenge I face and move forward with love.

(S)he Said:

“Life’s challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they’re supposed to help you discover who you are.” ~ Bernice Johnson Reagon

“Opportunities to find deeper powers within ourselves come when life seems most challenging.” ~ Joseph Campbell

“The greatest challenge to any thinker is stating the problem in a way that will allow a solution.” ~ Bertrand Russell

“Death is a challenge. It tells us not to waste time…It tells us to tell each other right now that we love each other.” ~ Leo F. Buscaglia

Make Me Lose Control ~ Eric Carmen

For the next week, I invite (challenge) you to choose thoughts of:

Peace when dealing with any challenges, big or small, personally or worldly as through peace, conflict dissipates.

Love when dealing with any challenges, big or small, personally or worldly as through peace, fear dissipates.

Compassion when dealing with any challenges, big or small, personally or worldly as through compassion, judgment dissipates.

Mostly, I wish you to see the world as 1 person striving to live happily, peacefully, and healthfully. Be that in your own life and you will begin to feel as though you have a magic wand while being a role model for others.

Until next time, I challenge you to place your focus on love over fear, abundance over lack, diversity over differences, and peace over conflict.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

Are you looking to get ahead in your professional life, in your personal life, in life in general? We often look at the world as the grass is always greener somewhere else, when in fact, we have lots to celebrate in our own lives. Rather than celebrating our successes, we often move on to ‘what’s next,’ yet we tend to hold on to the failures in our lives and reminisce over them. I could have done this better, I should have done that, etc.

“Our thoughts create our reality – where we put our focus is the direction we tend to go.” ~ Peter McWilliams

Rather than focusing on how Bob Smith sale’s were twice as many as your own last month, focus on the great connections you made and the amazing opportunities ahead. Place your focus on the direction you want your life to go. When you begin to have a positive focus, you find yourself in the right place, at the right time, with the right people.

Daily Refocusing tips:
1. Begin your day by thinking of at least three people you are grateful for and why you are grateful for them. Set your intentions for the day ahead by planning to meet the right people, at the right time, in the right place.
2. Throughout the day, stay in a place of appreciation. Appreciate what is already running smoothly in your life. Even appreciate the negative experiences, as they give you the perfect opportunity to see what you DON’T want in your life and then you can turn it around to thoughts of what you do want.
3. Be kind. Give authentic praise to those around you. Hold the door open for people. These simple gestures will make others day, which in the end, has a positive impact on you. You will be amazed at all the smiles you’ll get that lifts your mood.
4. Be gentle with yourself and others. We tend to beat ourselves up on the could have, should have scenarios. Give each moment your best shot, apologize if need be, accept the apology if need be, and let it go.
5. End your day with positive thoughts. As you prepare to go to sleep, be thankful for the day you just had by appreciating three people or events of the day. Set your focus on having a great tomorrow filled with the perfect people, in the perfect situations, in the perfect time.

Place your focus on the path ahead of you, and you’ll get there sooner than you could have imagined.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Positive Focus Announces YOU

Are Living Life Fulfilled

- Loving Self, Loving Life, and Loving Others -

Chicago, IL – August 4, 2010 – Positive Focus, a 501c3 non-profit focused on inspiring and uplifting people to live life fulfilled, is excited to announce that ‘Buddy – insert your name here’ is living the life of his dreams.

‘Buddy’ consciously chose to shift his thinking to a positive space in all aspects of his life and now lives life to the fullest. How you ask? Keys to living life fulfilled are: focusing on the positive, shifting from judgment to gratitude, breathing through contrasting experiences, taking 100% responsibility for your experience, knowing the connection to ALL, and loving self, loving life, and loving others.

“When I started to ask myself ‘What would love do’ in any situation, life started to become easier and I was empowered,” states Buddy. “I no longer wanted to lash out at anyone for hurting me as I realized I’m not a victim. I have complete choice in my reactions to anything. I began to claim myself and see all situations as an opportunity to thrive and grow. Sure there were times that I went back to my old patterns, but the more I practiced gratitude, the less and less I thought life was hard. Are there challenges, disappointments, or sadness in my life still? Sure, life continues to change, but I now change with it in a positive frame of mind. Challenges, disappointment and sadness still visit, they just don’t move in.”

“I am always so excited to see people step into their innate greatness,” said Carol Miller, Positive Focus Founder. “Buddy became aware of his inner greatness and let it shine through. Everyone is exactly where they need to be at any given moment. Life is about choices, and when you choose different choices, you get different results. Buddy chose to experience life with positive choices. Positive Focus isn’t about changing anyone, but rather giving people the opportunity to see their true potential and thrive. I am so grateful that I get to experience so many people becoming aware of their inner power and beauty. I truly love and commend Buddy on living his best self as that is what makes the world an even better place.”

For the next week I invite you to live your best self by living with:

Gratitude: Each morning as you wake, think of five things you are grateful for. Fill yourself with gratitude before your feet hit the floor. As you go through the day, be grateful for each experience. If you find yourself moving towards a negative thought, replace it with gratitude. And when you close your eyes for a restful sleep, enter sleep with grateful thoughts of the wonderful day you just had.

Intention: Each morning as you wake, set up the day on how you intend it to be the best day ever. Breathe in the knowledge that you get to choose how you experience life, so intend for amazing experiences. And when you close your eyes at the end of the day, set your intentions for a peaceful sleep to energize you for the next day.

Love: Each morning as you wake, think about all that you love. Fill yourself in love before your feet hit the floor. Go through your day knowing you are loved. Finish your day off with thoughts of love before you fall into a restful sleep.

Joy: Each morning as you wake, feel joyful. Smile before your feet hit the floor knowing that you will have joy and laughter in your world today. Finish your day off with a smile and perhaps a little giggle as you close your eyes and bring joy into your dreams.

Mostly, I invite you to reach deep inside and see how you are a unique individual. Only you have those exact qualities in the world. So dream big, love big, live big, and give big.

Until next time, love yourself, love life, and love others.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

Are you overwhelmed in everything you need to accomplish today (future)? Are you thinking I could have/should have done that better (past)? Or are you right here, right now, being present with yourself?

Yesterday can be filled with regret that you won’t let go of, or even past successes that you hang on tight to, or simply fond memories that make you smile.

Tomorrow can be filled with I’ll be happy when I accomplish x, y, z, or fear of the unknown, or excitement on all the possibilities that are ahead of you.

Today brings new possibilities. Today brings new choices. Today brings new hope. Today brings the ability to appreciate where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you are going.

Affirmation: Today I choose peace, happiness, and love.

(S)he Said:

“What we are today comes from our thoughts of yesterday, and our present thoughts build our life of tomorrow. Our life is the creation of our mind.” ~ Buddha

“If you’re still hanging onto a dead dream of yesterday, laying flowers on its grave by the hour, you cannot be planting the seeds for a new dream to grow today.” ~ Joyce Chapman

“Apparently there is nothing that cannot happen today.” ~ Mark Twain

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in, forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day, you shall begin it well and serenely.” ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Tomorrow ~ Annie

For the next week I invite you to appreciate your yesterday, enJOY your today, and look forward to your tomorrow by:

Appreciating the path that brought you to today as your path was an individual experience that only you have directly walked.

EnJOYing exactly where you are at this moment. Become aware of all of your senses and see the beauty in this amazing web of life with everything being connected. Hear the sounds around you from a drip of water from the faucet, children laughter, a car horn, or your own breath when you sit in stillness. Open your eyes and see what is in front of you. See all the colors in your environment and how they blend together. Be aware of how things taste. Don’t simply eat or drink because you are hungry or thirsty, be aware of how the food and beverage taste. Notice how things feel when you touch them; are they soft, smooth, or sticky? Breathe in the smells around you and become aware of the smell of food cooking, the smell of a flower, the smell of the rain. Pay attention to your sixth sense, your intuition. As you become aware of sight, taste, touch, and smell, you hone your own intuition of what feels right for you.

Forgiving yourself on any limiting belief you’ve held about yourself or others.

Mostly, I invite you to see today as a gift and treasure it. Whether it is a blizzard outside or it is sunny and 75 degrees, today is a gift. Whether you are witnessing a birth or a death today is a gift. It is up to you to treasure the gifts of today or put them aside and wait for tomorrow.

Until next time, today I see your gifts, do you?

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

Choose to love the job you are currently in. Make work a complaint free zone. Appreciate what you love about your job. Share the good stories at work. Be grateful for the contrast as it helps define what you do want. When you choose to love your life, the love in it expands. And through loving life, where you once flew, you can now soar.

I must admit, I’m not the first to jump in front of a camera and prefer to be the photographer than what’s being framed by the camera lens. My eyes are closed, blah…blah…blah. Mike Dooley, one of my favorite authors, said he began affirming that his pictures all turn out great and now they do! He reframed his thoughts!

How does the photo album of your life look like? Has it been filled with loving, happy, fun memories. Or have you taken yourself out of the picture due to fear. Whether you feel your life is on top of the world at this very minute, or if it’s stress filled with worry and fear, you have the picture perfect moment to reframe it.

Just like a photographer, it could be the first time you’ve picked up a camera (starting with positive thoughts), or your name might be Ansel Adams (continuing to enhance your positive thoughts), snap shot, by snap shot, you have an opportunity at this very minute to reframe your thoughts into the life of your dreams.

Affirmation: My life is filled with amazing experiences and amazing people; I have the photographs to prove it.

(S)he Said:

“A photograph is usually looked at – seldom looked into.” ~Ansel Adams

“A good snapshot stops a moment from running away.” ~Eudora Welty

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.” ~Ansel Adams

“He who frames the question wins the debate.” ~ Randall Terry

For the next week, I invite you to reframe your life by:

Talking/thinking about the amazing parts of your life. Your family, your friends, your health. Talk about loving experiences.

Being gentle with yourself on the contrasting experience and realize they exist to help you reframe what you do want! By seeing what you don’t want, you can reframe as a picture perfect memory.

Appreciating where you’ve been, where you are, and where you are going. Get excited about the new photographs you’ll be creating.

Mostly, I encourage you to reframe any thought that is holding you back from living big, loving big, and giving big. Cherish each moment and empower yourself to choose the thoughts that enhance your life. Choose the thoughts that make you giggle. Choose the thoughts that make you smile. Choose the thoughts that allow you to soar!

Until next time, smile pretty, as this a frameable moment.

Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.

~ Carol

Looking for a way to stay focused on Living Life Fulfilled? Make sure to surround yourself with people who lift you up, inspire you, support you, and simply love to laugh and have fun.
