Positive Focus is excited to announce that today is OPTIMIST AWARENESS DAY! Today you have the opportunity to see all aspects of your life from a positive focus. You get to look deeply into your fears and be gentle with them and watch them slowly lessen and dissipate. You get to look excitingly at your opportunities and celebrate them as they expand. You get to take a new look at the people in your life that you find challenging and become aware of their fears knowing they too are trying to live a good life. You get to connect with the people in your life that make your heart sing and deepen your appreciation for them. Today you get to see all the woes in the world – fear, anger, hatred, bullying, torture, and bring love to all those facing fear based treatment. You get to choose to bring love to these situations rather than adding more fear by ‘fighting’ back. Today you get to choose to speak about others the way you would like others to speak about you. Today you get to choose to write about others the way you would want others to write about you. Today, you get to become aware of how powerful your thoughts are and choose to focus on the ones that empower you and others and by doing so, see them expand.
Today, you get to choose to follow the Optimist Creed by promising yourself:
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, and happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
Affirmation: I walk on the sunny side of life by choosing to see the beauty in all I encounter.

“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.” ~ Maria Robinson

For the next week I invite you to try on optimism by:
Participating in conversations that are happy, hopeful, and positive
Choosing to see through rose colored glasses and become aware of the opportunity in the challenge, the hope that lies within the fear, and the happiness that is stirred up due to sadness.
Mostly, my wish is for you to become aware of your thoughts and see how they make you feel. Do your thoughts and conversations empower or dis-empower you? Being optimistic isn’t burying your head in the sand, rather it’s seeing that one grain of sand that can turn the situation around into building a castle rather than slinging mud.
Until next time, I’m optimistic that you’ll join me on the sunny side of life.
Keep living big, loving big, and laughing along the journey.
