I am a firm believer in practicing gratitude. So I decided over a month ago I would give more time to this and I started a Gratitude Journal. Every day I would open my journal and write all the GOOD THINGS in my life that I was grateful for. Yet, at my core I was not feeling the gratefulness that I was writing in my journal until someone reminded me of how a so called NEGATIVE EVENT can be seen as a grateful experience. This was a huge awakening brought to my attention for the first time. I could feel myself slipping back into my old patterns sinking in the drama that presented itself to me thinking in my head how am I going to deal with this one. Once I met it with understanding it was like a enormous weight just lifted off my shoulders, my energy increased and my head and heart returned to a very peaceful existence thanks to an email (and thank you Carol Miller) that was kind and compassionate, showing me the art of gratitude even in times of difficultly. I was paranoid about writing an email expressing my cries for help thinking others have better things to be do. A welcome email presented before me reminded me of what I already knew and preached to others. Thinking I had all this good stuff down already, I became hard on myself and took the negative energy inward and forgot that I have a great group of supportive people who surround me everyday offering me support no matter where I was on my journey in life. Its okay to share and feel and I am very grateful for everyone this week who met me with kindness and understanding. Thank you Bax McClure, Lynne Lawrence , Carol Miller, Carol Williams and Avril Begin who were empathetic as I shared my difficulties and concerns.. And thank you Lorna for growing and recognizing the power of staying POSITIVE. It truly is the journey rather than the destination that makes like a gratitude filled zone.
